Skipper Charters

Skipper Charters

If you want to sit back, relax, maybe with a nice cold drink in your hand and watch the sun play on the water as you cruise through the warm, clear blue waters of Greece, then let one of our experienced skippers take care of your sailing trip.

The skipper will be there to welcome you at the pier and help to get you settled in so you can start your stress-free vacation. If you wish to take an active part in the sailing and mooring, the skipper teaches you a bit more about sailing and life at sea. Our skippers will suggest routes depending on the season, weather conditions and type of adventures you and your crew are looking for.

We have skippers that speak Swedish, English and Greek. Please let us know your preference and what you expect from your sailing holiday and we will do our very best to match the skipper to your crew. If booking a skipper charter, kindly include the skipper in final number of souls on board.

Bareboat Charter

Bareboat Charters

If you charter bare boat you will be required to send your qualifications before the start of your charter. At least one sailing certificate is compulsory to charter bareboat in Greece and the original must be presented to the base or local authorities.

The following responsibilities apply to both guest skippers and hired skippers:

  • Possession of documentation as described in the booking procedure

  • Check-in and check-out processes

  • Welfare and safety of all persons on board

  • Security and safety of boat and contents

  • Calculation of remaining daylight prior to departure from any port

  • Refuel the yacht at the agreed check-out port

Check out responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the skipper to refuel the diesel at the agreed check-out port, and to sign the check-out form and questionnaire, on the last Friday night. The boat is available to you until Saturday morning at 09:00 as agreed in the contract.

Accidents and Loss of Equipment

If the boat is involved in an accident of any nature, the skipper must immediately contact ND Sails as well as the local port police. We also urge the skipper to complete an accident report form supplied and ask any other party involved to complete the same form. The skipper will not ask for any repairs to be carried out without ND Sails prior agreement.  Should any equipment be lost, stolen or broken, the skipper must report this immediately.
